Escape to warmth: St George

Don't those red rocks just say "warm" to you? Well, they do to me. Since it snowed last week (April 30th!) I said, we gotta get away! Darren's always up for a last minute weekend away, so we did. Booked a little place in St George and headed out Thursday after school. Went to Zion Friday.

Check out the raging Virgin River behind these cute kids

Squirrels were BOLD-that's Darren's leg he's leaning on

The fam at Weeping Rock (aka the Crying one, says Trev) and yes, he is sucking on her toes.

That evening we went to dinner with our friends and not-next-door neighbors since they defected south, the Carlile's. After, we monopolized more of their time by going to the Red Rocks over the Dixie and then getting custards. Thanks for taking the pic, Maranda!

Aubs didn't like her cave
Lunch at the splash park (Trev, Rach, and Andrew)

Aubs didn't like this, but she didn't know that yet

Then swimming. Yes, your Highness?
Fun stuff. Then we got home and it rained for more than 24 hours straight. Good to be home...?

Classic

We went to Classic over Spring break. The kids love it and the new camera lets me take some action shots!

Egg Hunts

We started with an egg hunt at the church with the ward (it was early)

Then over to Riverton park where we met the Easter bunny

Sunday morning we had an Easter egg hunt in the yard for just our kids

We had

April stuff

At the zoo for Claire's 3rd b-day; the Carousel

Piling on Trevor at the fake elephant. (April 19th)

Aubrey is cute!

We dyed Easter eggs at home:

My event

I did a triathlon on Saturday. It snowed. I didn't even bring my bike out of the car because they had to cancel the bike portion because of the wet roads. (And I discovered later that I had forgotten my helmet! Whoops! It was just up the road at Kearns so I would have had time to come home and get it, but that would have been stressful.) So we started 20 minutes late and did 200M swim, 5K, and 200M swim. Took me all of 40 minutes. My bib# was 59. Results:

No pictures because while D intended to be a the finish line with the kids, he got there and Rach didn't have shoes on. He would have made it if he had come in then, but he went home and missed me by more than 15 minutes. Always fun! That was supposed to replace my 8 mile run that week, so I should have come home and run 4-5 miles, but I didn't.
