These are the "gold-plated" ones. Pretty cool. And that provided breakfast for us too. Awesome.

Why Aunts are more fun than moms...
Because when mom is getting a root canal (surprisingly LESS fun than it sounds), the kids are dying Easter eggs-a full month before Easter. Thanks Anna!

Race
I am training for a marathon (Utah Valley-June 11th). As fun as that sounds, as part of my training I ran a half-marathon yesterday. It's nice to have a local race-it was in Riverton. Not a big venue, but still nicely planned and put on. My hubby surprised me by packing up the kids and meeting me at the finish line (no picture, camera was on too long and just turned off =( -though I am sure it would have been not flattering anyway). I hadn't even asked him to come because I wasn't making a big deal of it, but it was a nice surprise.

Here's my "tomato-face" (as Rachel calls it). And my kids are being silly. They were pretty interested in the chocolate milk and Gatorade. Oh, yeah, my time was 2:01. Not a PR (personal record) but that's okay. The course was challenging (read: 3 really steep hills) that I didn't kill myself on (read: I walked when it was rough). But it was good. I felt good and am glad I did it.

Quest!
Baby was playing on the floor with a mission: Get phone. She started at one end and ended up by the couch, where the phone was on the floor. Somebody's dad needs to get used to putting it up high! (But I guess then she will just start walking. And he isn't always responsible for where it ends up since Trev has it half the time).

Baby Houdini
*Just to qualify this post-no babies were harmed in the making!*
So, my 7 month old baby is chubby and adorable. She also thinks she's big (like not wanting baby food and moving like crazy-almost crawling, but no quite, but she gets from point A to B to C just fine anyway). When I shower she sits in her little bouncy seat. This was used by my other kids for the same purpose, but she is the first to find a way to stand in it. She also sits completely up (usually by grabbing on the toys in front of her) instead of reclining in it. Today after my shower, I went down to get my 4 year old breakfast and in the meantime my husband was in the bathroom, so I left her in the seat. I guess Trevor had left the Iphone on the rug by her and monkey-baby spotted it. Not realizing that she's a baby, she was reaching out for it. Since she couldn't reach-mind you she is buckled into this seat-you can see they are still buckled in the picture-she decides to use the seat to get herself closer, and finally has her hands on the ground to the side of the seat and works her feet out. My husband is yelling for me to come up-finally I hear and come running up the stairs. She's on the floor by the tipped seat, happy as a clam because she has the phone she had worked so hard to get. (He would have gotten out of the shower and moved her, but she wasn't falling, just being a monkey!) Had I had the phone in my hand, I would have taken a pic while she was still on the floor. But alas, this was the aftermath.

All the excitement!
Ok, so we were watching a movie today, (happened to be Harry Potter) and I go to take the garbage out, when I come back in, they (Darren, Anna and the kids) are all at the back door. Apparently there was a loud noise and they were going to investigate. So, we see a bird laying not under the window but to the side-like it was totally kaput. Then Darren says, looks like a really big bird-oh, wait it's an OWL! So Anna is telling me to stop using the phone to get a picture and call animal control, but I took one anyway-had to document this. I called and through a few transfers finally got through to someone and she says that they will have a wildlife officer call me (since animal control is for domestic and highway patrol handles "wild" animals). Wasn't sure if it was even alive (Darren wouldn't even touch it with a latex glove on) so while I am on the phone it puts it's head up and looks at us with those creepy eyes-mind you this is 4 feet from my back door. So, we pull out the video camera and stuff while waiting for this callback to see what they will do. The owl sits all the way up and Trev goes closer (to "show it something" he says later) and it flies off, but just around the side of the house. Anna is all, leave it alone and we just wanted to see if it was okay and going to be able to travel further-I mean it must have a serious headache at the least-he hit that window hard! So we go inside and the officer calls in a few minutes and we checked and the owl was completely gone. Nutty.
