Snowbird

We have gone to Snowbird's summer activities in years past, and whenever we do, my husband says, we should have stayed the night. So this year, with a little planning (shocking, really), we were able to go up and spend the night. It worked out great because our passes were actually good for 24 hours, so we did some stuff when we got there, ate dinner, went swimming, and then when we woke up, we had breakfast and did the activities again! Endless fun! (No, we did have to bribe them with ice cream to even get them to leave after 24 hours of fun!) This post is heavy on pics, but I took WAY more than this. These are the highlights...

We rode the tram to the top of the mountain (11000 feet!) TONS of snow up there-but it wasn't as cold as my kids are acting like it is.

I did the tramp again-it really wears you out! (when you are old I guess...)

This was out of her comfort zone to ride the chair lift by herself, but I had the baby and they couldn't go 3 to a lift; so she had to do it. She got brave and did it!

Ragin' Waters, I mean Seven Peaks SL

We went to Seven Peaks Salt Lake on Wednesday. I took some pics this time we went, and I am glad I did, because the kids were brave jumping of this rock into the deep water (they had lifejackets, but still). Always a fun day. We got lucky on weather again because it got cloudy and little rain, but cleared up in like 30 minutes.

It's good to be boating

We made it up to Pineview Res with some grandparents and cousins on Monday. Got on the water about 11 and didn't finish up until after 6. Long day in the sun, but you just keep getting wet and drying out. I didn't have the camera until lunch because I left it in the car; so you are spared from pics of us on the wakeboard (it's been 2 years! But it comes back-like riding a bike...) Luckily, my SIL was willing to take a break from the boat to hold a baby who also needed a break from the boat (read: lifejacket). Let some pictures tell the tale:

Ice Blocking

We wanted to do some extra things while Sara and Co. were here for the 4th of July week. Well, I had the brilliant idea for ice blocking. Haven't done it since I was a teen and forgot that really it's a little terrifying. But that's what makes it fun, right? After dinner, we got the ice and headed to the fabulous new park in our neighborhood, this is where we went sledding this winter, (not knowing that the lawn had never been mowed). But that did not dissuade us! No, we powered onward to the steepest of the four sides. I took the first ride to "show them how it's done" and totally biffed at the bottom. But they did it anyway (probably made it look like more fun, right?). We had cousins and Carter & Paige (our honorary cousins). Darren didn't go down once!

Emily and Paige-we would get to the bottom (even if we fell off) and she would say, "Let's do that again!" Such a daredevil!

These kids spent a lot of time hauling the ice back up the hill and losing it down the hill and having to chase after it. It wore them out-in a good way. And I have tons more pictures but my internet/computer is being so slow that I don't have time to sit here all night. So, you get the idea.

Happy Independence Day!

We have been going to the WJ parade for the last 5 or 6 years on the 4th of July. It is a good little parade and this year the weather was perfect! It rained a few misty drops but was low 80's and overcast. So nice. We trade off who has to go early to set up chairs since it gets seriously crowded. I went at 7 and put the stuff in our normal spot. Well, I hadn't checked the city website (why would I? Like I said we have been doing this for years) and apparently the route changed to go up 7800 instead of to the courthouse at 80th and of course we were on Redwood, just past 78th. Ok, so our stuff was not in the parade route. So we had to fight a little for seating. Stinks. But it's fine. Till people were rudey-heads and stood (that's right STOOD) in front of us. Whatever people. But the weather was nice!

Then that night we pretty much had everyone we know who didn't have better plans over for a BBQ. (If you weren't there, same time next year!) I don't have any pictures because I really only sat down to eat and then to put the baby down. But we had a good time; food and fireworks! And the neighborhood was C-R-A-Z-Y with fireworks-seriously, so many aerials! Fun stuff.

Bouncing Back

And by that I mean you go to Lagoon once and you go back again in the next 10 days for only $10. Who can resist that deal? Not us!

Rachie's first time! She is 50 inches now and was able to do Jet Star and Rocket. She chose "Blastoff." The anticipation (for both of us) was worse than the actual ride.
Right side, second row from the back-D has his arms up-kids are next to him. Who is holding onto Trev? Some lady that was sitting next to them and felt nervous that their dad wasn't being careful enough. Funny, and I can relate to the feeling. Though it was not their first time going on this.

Is a baby allowed to just be happy?

Not if you are a third child...

And not if your siblings just "love" you! (Is her hint of pushing with both hands and feet strong enough? No...)
