We made some plans for April, but we didn't share them with the kids. One Friday, Rachel was having a hard time getting up and out for school. I was trying to motivate her, and Darren said, "How about we just check you out of school for lunch, since it's short today?" She agreed, and off she went. (This was our plan for the day anyway, we were just going to surprise her). We then set Trevor down on the couch with his DS, and proceeded to pack the car with the suitcases and stuff I had been packing in my closet all week. We checked Rachel out and went to lunch. (Her teacher was aware of the plan and had already given me homework). We then got on the freeway southbound and then the questions began. "Where are we going?" We told them we thought we should do something fun. So, any ideas? They threw out a few- Classic, Lagoon, Trafalga. We said no to all-instead we are going to DISNEYLAND! (And LegoLand Califonia). They didn't believe us. They had to check over the seat and see the bags before they would know it was true. Then began the 12 hour drive.....
We ended up driving straight through instead of stopping at Vegas or further, so we arrived in San Diego really late on Friday. We had planned Saturday as a travel day but since we had the whole day, we went to see the USS Midway which is a aircraft carrier that they have converted to a museum. Cool tour. Fewer people are qualified to land and take off of aircraft carriers than to perform brain surgery. It had rained so it was a little cool and windy, but interesting.

We set out to LegoLand the next day. Well, were were going to do the SeaLife Aquarium there and then the park the next day, but were able to add the extra day pretty cheap, so we decided that we would do it two days (plus it has short hours with closing at 5, so it was worth it).

| They had a "mini-land" that was places all over the world. This is mini-Las Vegas. They also had scenes from the Star Wars movies in miniature. Very detailed and cool. |

| Think Jungle Cruise ride but everything is made from Legos. Like Taj Mahal and Mount Rushmore and much more. And no terrible jokes. |

Looks like fun! You are either very sly or your kids really don't pay attention to what you are doing if you were packing all week without them noticing! :) Sounds like a fun trip!
How fun!! I need to call you! We are heading to Lego land next week! I was just trying to decide if I should get the park hopper to the water park...
